How to Rotate Objects in Photoshop

Learning to rotate an object in Photoshop is easy with this tutorial. You will also learn shortcuts and hotkeys that make it even easier!

Open your image. Make sure this image has a layer that has a shape or object you want to rotate. In this case, take for example the park bench as your object.

Select that layer. To make sure it's selected, it should be highlighted yellow.

Select the object. Using the "Rectangle Marquee" tool, drag a rectangle around that object, leaving a little bit of space.

5Click 'Edit' on the toolbars. This icon is located on the top of the window. Next, go to 'Transform', then click 'Rotate'.

Rotate the object. Upon clicking 'Rotate', eight squares should appear around the rectangle. Go to any and click and hold the left mouse button. After that, drag it in any direction until you are satisfied with where it is placed.

Press 'Enter'. This will apply the rotation, and you can now do anything else with the object. Click the 'Move' tool to move it in the right place.

Step 1 Open file “Metal Ball”. Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool and make a selection of the ball. Hold shift while dragging to keep the selection a perfect circle. After you’ve selected the ball press Ctrl + C to copy and Ctrl + N to create a new document. Photoshop it’s smart enough to calculate the dimensions of the selection and input those variables into document creation window so all you have to do it’s to press Ok. Paste the image (Ctrl + V). Step 2 Now we have the ball selected into a new document and the reason for this it is that the door in the middle of the ball kind of ruins the whole aspect of it. We need a nice, round metallic ball and this is the only decent image of a chrome ball I could find, except it has an ugly entrance of some sort that’s ruining its symmetry.
