How to Make Delicious Ice Cream Text in Photoshop
Create “Ice cream” Text effect in Adobe Photoshop by using simple tools: layer styles, brushes and stock photos. It’s great way to make your typography more interesting and yummy!
The Final Results
This tutorial shows you how to create yummy typography. You’ll need Photoshop CS5 or newer to follow this tutorial.

Step 1
Create new file (File > New, or Ctrl + N) 1600×1200 px.
Step 2
Choose first layer – Background. Pick gradient tool (G). Set Radial gradient from the top. Pick #591d00 and #2d0e00 colors.
Step 3
Add new layer (Shift + Ctrl + N or Layer > New > Layer…). Choose brush tool. Set #fea800 color. Pick Soft round brush and set it to 1242 px big. Draw dot on the center.
Step 4
Change blending mode of this layer to Screen and set opacity to 20%.
Step 5
Now you will need Bokeh stock. Place it into your image.
Step 6
Click at the mask of the layer with holding alt. Choose black and white radial gradient and make something like that:

Change blending mode of bokeh layer to Linear Dodge (Add).
Step 8
Create Adjustment layer with Hue/saturation (Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation or use marked shortcut).
Hue: +175 Saturation: -100 Lightness: -76

If Adjustment layer isn’t clippy (layer adjusts all below) you should make it clippy. Just click Right Mouse Button on Adjustment layer and choose from menu “Create clipping mask”.
Step 10
Add new layer (Shift + Ctrl + N or Layer > New > Layer…). Pick #612200 color and set linear gradient. Choose color – transparent one. Apply it by short line on the center.

Change blending mode of this layer to Soft light and set opacity to 45%.
Step 12
Choose Type tool. Pick VAL font. Set size to 250 pt. Set color of type to #5b1e00.
Step 13
Add layer styles. Click RMB on layer and choose “Blending options”. Pick:
Inner shadow:
Blend Mode: Multiply, #000000, Opacity: 75%.
Inner glow:
Blend Mode: Screen, #612200, Opacity 5%.
Bevel and Emboss:
Style: Inner Bevel,
Technique: Smooth
Size: 6px,
Soften 0px
Highlight Mode: Screen, #fb9838, 75%
Shadow Mode: Multiply #2b0c03, 75%.
Contour:
50%

Click where is shown to add layer mask. It works also on text layers :). With 24 px hard round brush erase some places, so it will looks like bitten.
Step 15
Add new layer. Choose gradient tool and fill it with #f8941d color as is shown.
Step 16
Click on this layer with RMB. Choose Create clipping mask.
Step 17
Change blending mode to Lighten and opacity of this layer to 32%.
Step 18
Duplicate layer with text. Change positon of this layer below first layer with text. Change mask with hard round brush as shown.
Step 19
Place Food texture above duplicated layer. Everything is shown on the image:

Make this layer clippy by RMB > Create Clipping Mask.

By holding ctrl choose layers with: Text, Grafient, Food and text below food. Then duplicate it and click RMB, then choose Convert to Smart Object.
Step 22
By ctrl + T transform it as shown: vertically and perspectively.

Place converted smart object below text layers. Then add mask to this layer. Use black and white gradient.
Step 24
Above reflection layer add new layer. With soft round, gray brush draw some small strokes below text, as shown.

Change layer blending mode to Multiply and decrease opacity to 40%.

Add new layer. Copy layer style from the first text layer. With small brush draw somewhere unequal broken pieces of ice cream.

By RMB choose Convert to Smart Object. Then from top menu pick Filter > Blur > Radial blur. Set it as is shown.

On new layer repeat 26 step.

Convert it to Smart Object. Use from the top menu Filter > Blur > Gaussian blur… Choose 14 px blur.
Step 30
I also addewd mask to this layer, because i draw too much ice cream pieces.

Duplicate layer with radial blur, or just add new and drew some ice cream pieces. Clear filters and transform it as shown.

On this layer use from the top Filter > Gaussian blur…

Add new layer. With small brush and #f7941d color draw drops of the filling. Yummy! :3

Click on this layer with RMB. Choose blending options and pick Bevel and Emboss. Set it as shown:
Then add contour

On new layer use bigger brush with the same settings of layer (Bevel and emboss and contour).

Convert layer to Smart Object. Then from top menu choose Filters > Blur > Gaussian blur.

Next, add Filter > Blur > Radial blur.

Add new layer. With big, soft round brush #e58a1d color draw dots soewhere. Then, by using yellow and smaller brush draw on dots some strokes.

Then change blending mode to Lightien and decrease opacity to 12%.

Add adjustment layer with Brightness/Contrast.

Add new layer. Then create radius gradient as is shown:

Change layer blending mode to Overlay and decrease opacity to 14%.
